Building a custom home in Virginia Beach when the client is in Chicago and the architect is in Boston could be dicey, so we all lucked out in having Bill Boykin’s great talent, skill, and patience on the job.
The challenges for building this 3,700 sf house included a very tight site, a mandate to keep as many loblolly pines as possible (one rises up in the middle of a brick terrace), and a unique design that included a plaster ceiling that rises like a wave cresting at the top of the second floor. The finished project was a work of art, proving that not only do good clients make good buildings, good contractors with Bill’s eye for aesthetics and keen attention to detail make all the difference. Bill is a true craftsman who takes pleasure in his work, provides professional project management, competitive pricing, and most importantly, a spirit of collaboration with architect and client. I highly recommend working with this talented builder and renaissance man – we look forward to the next opportunity to collaborate with him.
